It's 26 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside and I have to leave for class soon. What a way to start a Florida day!

In an msn.com article titled "One-piece or bikini? Choose a suit by sign" I read what kind of bathing suit a girl born on January 9 should wear. Somehow it doesn't sound a bit like me.
"The Goat has an innate fashion sense; you can pull off the difficult colors and cuts with sexy aplomb. Try a reflective silver bikini top and a temporary leather skirt to cover up your Brazilian thong in between brief dips in the water. Are you tough enough to fight off the hunks this sexy swimwear will attract? "

One of the girls in Women's Chorale emailed us a picture from our performance last Friday. I posted it in the "University of Florida" album of my photo album. In an attempt to link directly to the picture from this page, try this. I haven't kept up with my Yahoo! Photos album but linking to pictures there is easier than in PictureTrail.

"Followers of the Lamb" should not have been attempted by the University of Florida Women's Chorale at the concert tonight. It was worse than I ever expected. I'll still buy a CD of the performance for Dan and my parents to hear, but more for a laugh than to demonstrate our musical talent. I'm just glad it's over.

I am now a Sarah Hughes fan. After her performance was over tonight I felt as breathless as she looked. I could put myself in her shoes - the total exhilaration and the roar of the crowd reminded me of my high school musicals. If you are proud of what you have done, and the audience agrees, nothing can compare to what you feel at that moment.

E! Online reports that David Duchovny will return for the "X-Files" season finale in May, which will also be the show's final episode. This is a nice surprise for "X-Files" fans. I know I'm pleased, at least.

I am in Tallahassee for the weekend retrieving my suitcase and trying to get some important stuff done. My portraits at JCPenny this morning turned out well. My tax forms have been completed. Now I need to hem my Women's Chorale dress and finish the laundry I brought with me.

My parents mailed me a little heart-shaped box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. I received it on Tuesday and it is still sitting unopened on the shelf in my room. It is taking all of my restraint not to rip off the plastic wrap and dig in. If I can make it out of Gainesville tomorrow (I am going home for the weekend) without eating those chocolates it will be quite a victory for my ego. We'll see what happens.

My spring break plans are now almost completely finalized. I just reserved a room at the Jacksonville International Airport Holiday Inn for the nights of March 1st and 9th. Now I need to double check on my plane ticket with United Airlines. Hopefully, in about two weeks, I will be on my way to Los Angeles to see Dan. Yay!

It looks like an assistantship at Georgia Tech has presented itself. I will almost certainly turn down all of the offers from Georgia Tech but at least I will know I had the opportunity. Hopefully it won't be long before I hear from the three remaining schools. In other news, I was pleased to see that "The Fellowship of the Ring" (13), "Moulin Rouge" (8), and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (3) received as many Academy Awards nominations as they did. For a complete listing of the nominees go to oscars.org.

I'm not quite sure how to feel about it but I received an acceptance email from Stanford University today. It read, "I am pleased to inform you that you have been offered admission to Stanford University for study in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics--Autumn 2002-2003." Unfortunately I was not offered any financial aid. So at this point I have been accepted to two of the top five aerospace engineering graduate programs in the country. Too bad neither is one I prefer to attend! Considering these recent acceptances, I am guessing (and hoping) that I will hear from the other schools I applied to soon.

Once again, I have posted more pictures in my photo album. New photos are in the "Summer 2000" and "University of Florida" albums. Two of my goals for the weekend are to post a new diary entry and scan my Europe trip pictures. Other than that I don't know how I'll pass the time.

I knew I had forgotten something when I formulated this page - links to my friends webpages! They are now contained in a table to the left. If you would like your page listed here just email me and add it. Life is boring right now so that's why there haven't been any updates for awhile.

More pictures are now posted in my photo album. All of the new ones are in the "University of Florida" album and they vary from sorority functions to shuttle launches. I didn't have enough of any particular event to make separate albums. If it happened between fall 1998 and spring 2002 the pictures are grouped together. Now it's time to start the weekend homework.

It took awhile but I finally finished my Lord of the Rings diary entry and now it has been posted. Cross off another listing from my Handspring "diary topics" memo.

I got an A on my first biology test! The semester is off to a good start, at least as far as grades are concerned.

According to the University of Florida online system I have met all requirements needed for graduation! Now I just have to wait for the semester to be over.
