It's still a work in progress, but here is the first version of our wedding webpage - http://gleasonandfeller.laurensweb.net. There's a lot of information still to be added, but I think it looks pretty good day far. I'll be updating the site throughout the week and hopefully it will be complete by the time we send out our save the date cards.

Over the weekend Dan and I tried to print a sample of our save the date cards (which Dan designed) to see how they looked, but we soon discovered that neither of our printers was cut out for the job. Dan's printer was better at handling the heavy notecards and envelopes, but my printer produces more vivid colors. We shopped several places yesterday and decided to buy a new Canon printer that we hoped would be more suitable. After a couple of tests it seems the new printer has solved our problems, much to our relief. I've ordered more cards to print the rest of the save the dates, so it shouldn't be too much longer before we send them out. Progress on our wedding webpage has been siginifcantly less than on the save the date cards. The main page is done, but the links are broken because I haven't finished them yet. I'm planning to upload all of the pages sometime this week and then I'll share the URL with everyone. I just hope it doesn't look too homemade!

It's been a busy week! Sunday was devoted to the watching of football and, much to Dan's delight, the Bears secured their place in Super Bowl XLI. Then starting on Monday I regained my motivation for wedding planning. With only five months left until the wedding I'm suddenly realizing how much stuff still needs to be done. I made a list of everything wedding-related, from champagne flutes to dance lessons, and hopefully I can get all of the items checked off before June 23rd! Over the past two days we've reserved rooms at a few Coronado hotels for our friends and family, and today I booked a suite at the Hotel del Coronado for Dan and me. That's one major item taken care of. I also contacted someone in San Diego about doing my hair for the wedding. Dan tried to book plane tickets for our honeymoon tonight, but we discovered that American only reserves two business class frequent flier seats on each of their flights to New Zealand. And none of those seats are available for the next year! It's possible that we can get seats as the date draws nearer, but it looks like we won't be taking our honeymoon right after the wedding. That's OK. I'm really excited about going to New Zealand and when we go doesn't matter to me!

While talking to someone about football: "I'm a Gator fan. We do the Chomp. *demonstrates Chomp* Not the Chop. *demonstrates Chop* That's the Seminoles. It's one letter, but a very important one."

Written on Monday, 1/15: "It's been a cold few days in Southern California. Dan and I drove up to Big Bear for the weekend to go snowboarding and the lowest temperatures we saw were around 0 degF. This was one of the reasons that snowboarding wasn't too pleasant for me on Saturday. I was freezing! Despite wearing several layers, I was shivering uncontrollably and my fingers and toes were constantly numb. Also, since I took quite a fall at Mammoth over New Year's, I was afraid of falling again and further agravating the injury. All in all, it wasn't a very good day for me on the slopes. On Sunday morning we woke up very early to drive back to Los Angeles so Dan could watch the the Bears vs. Seahawks game at 9 AM. It was cold and we had to stop to take off the tire chains about halfway down the mountain. The snow level was down below 3000 ft which is very unusual for LA.
I was surprised to see frost on our front yard this morning as I was leaving for work. Strangely enough, there was more ice on my windshield this morning than when Dan and I left Big Bear (approx 7000 ft) yesterday morning. We live three miles from the beach, for heaven's sake! We'll see how long this lasts."

Yesterday, during a particularly boring meeting, I composed a webpage update about my weekend, but I accidentally left my notebook at home today so I can't post it. After I got home from work yesterday I was too lazy to do anything except watch 24 and part of the Golden Globes with Dan. I did make some broccoli salad to go along with leftover spaghetti casserole, but I only had enough energy to sprawl on the couch and watch TV after that. I really must be more productive this evening.

The pictures from my birthday dinner at the Napa Rose are now available in the Lauren's Birthday 01/09/07 set on my Flickr account. I'll post new versions of some pictures when I have a chance to remove the red eye.

I am now twenty-eight. Yesterday was my birthday, but by the time I got home I didn't have the energy to write anything. I had a pretty good day that started with the Gators winning the National Championship the night before and ended with Dan taking me to the Napa Rose for dinner. Even though the restaurant is at Disneyland, it isn't child oriented at all and the food there is delicious. Dan bought me a beautiful black dress for my birthday so I got to wear that to dinner last night. We have some pictures from the evening that I'll post when I get home tonight. I also made myself a birthday cake over the weekend (chocolate gingerbread bundt cake that turned out really well), but I took most of it to work with me yesterday to avoid eating the whole thing myself! It was delicious. All in all it was a good birthday and I'm definitely looking forward to the year ahead!

WE'RE NUMBER ONE! And I can't believe it. When I have fully digested the fact that the Gators just won the BCS title I'll write more. Until then, read the folowing articles that say it all. GO GATORS!
Dave - (Male) Skiier in blue who whizzes by at the beginning Sam - (Female) Skiier in blue who is going a bit slower and turns around to face up the mountain Lauren - Snowboarder in white who approaches very slowly while acting like a total dork (i.e., doing the hula)
P.S. I uploaded the Mammoth pictures to my Flickr account in the "Mammoth 12/06" set. I don't like the changes to Yahoo Photos so I think I'll use Flickr from now on.

I was very tired when I posted the video below last night and that's why it doesn't have any explanation to accompany it. Dave shot this video while skiing so it has sort of a "Matrix" perspective. It's hard to tell because of the bulkly clothes, but the skiier in blue in the middle of the screen is Samantha. The snowboarder in white that Dave follows for awhile is me and I'm trying to glide over a fairly flat part of the run we were on. Flat areas are difficult for snowborders because we don't have indepenent foot movement. Dan is the snowboarder in khaki plaid pants and a black helmet, but you can only see him briefly. The rest of the videos from our Mammoth trip, including a few good ones of Dan and Dave attempting snowboard/ski jumps, can be found in my YouTube account.
