Working nights is no fun. I crawled into bed this morning at about the same time Dan was crawing out.

Iron Man - Great comic book adaptation movie. Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic. Too bad Dan and I had to watch the movie from the front row because all of the other seats were filled when we got in to the theater. I figured that we wouldn't have that problem because Iron Man had been out for three weeks already, but I was wrong. It seems to be the most popular movie out so far this summer, and it definitely earned that title. Even thought we got eye and neck strain, Dan and I really enjoyed it.
Prince Caspian - Unfortunately this was not so great. As a huge Narnia fan I was hoping it would be good enough to perpetuate the franchise (Voyage of the Dawn Treader is my favorite of the seven books), but I was disappointed. I still enjoyed the movie because I am such a big fan, but I'm fairly sure it's not going to do well at the box office. A good indicator of this is that there were only about a dozen people in the theater and the movie was just released a week ago (granted we did go to an 11 PM showing). But I still liked it.
Indiana Jones 4 - This one was a lot of fun, but after a recent watching of the original trilogy the new movie just doesn't measure up. I'm glad Dan and I went to see it because there was a lot of continuity from the older movies that made for great entertainment. The latest offering relied heavily on special effects and action because that's what today's audience wants to see, but it's the storyline and acting that makes Indiana Jones worth watching. Fortunately there were some good performances that made this particular movie worth watching as well.

My computer is working again! (Although Blogger seems to be broken again.)

My urge to watch season 2 episodes of Heroes was so strong that I attempted to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my laptop from the Windows Update site last night. Big mistake. The installation got hung up after about an hour so I restarted the computer. Now it won't boot at all. I located my Windows system disk this morning and I'm attempting to repair the damage, but its taking a long time and I'm not sure it's going to work. (I'm posting this from Dan's Mac; there's still about 30 minutes left for the Windows setup to complete. If it does complete, that is.) I can't believe I crashed my computer in the pursuit of watching television shows. I feel so shallow. On the bright side, this might be just the excuse I need to replace my 5+ year old laptop. I didn't really want to spend the money right now, but I may have no other choice. Is it possible to love and hate something at the same time. Because that's exactly how I feel about my laptop right now.

I just bought tickets for Dan and me to see Iron Man and Prince Caspian tonight. With showtimes of 7:45 PM and 10:50 PM we can theoretically make it to both shows. We might miss some of the previews before Prince Caspian, but I'm sure that's no great loss. Unless I miss a good trailer for Inkheart, that is. Other than buying the movie tickets, I've just taken care of a bunch of household chores today - laundry, dishes, garbage, etc. Right now Dan and I are watching the Cubs game on WGN. It's a wonderfully lazy Saturday.

If I didn't have so much work to do I would not be here today. I have more than enough extra hours to take the day off, but my workload is preventing that. In happier news, I don't want to jinx it, but it seems my website publishing is working again!

It seems I can only publish from Blogger every few days. Strange. In other news, what would the Lakers do without Kobe Bryant? I'm sure they don't want to find out. They had an impressive win over the Spurs tonight with his help. I saw the end of the game when I got home from work after a 14-hour day. Meetings that last 12 hours should be illegal.
