Quiet Monday night

Remember that event at work that I wrote about last Wednesday? Well, it’s been rescheduled for tomorrow. Cue my stress level rising again. The good news is that I was pretty prepared last week so there wasn’t a whole lot more that needed to be done today. I still spent ten hours at work, though. I’m going in early tomorrow to finish getting my handouts and presentations ready too. I’ll be glad when this event is over. I don’t have any reason to believe that it will go badly, but it will be nice to have it behind me. Some sort of disaster notwithstanding I will start my post tomorrow with a “Woohoo!” Dan went to a wine tasting class with some of his co-workers tonight so I’ve had the house to myself for a few hours since I got home. I was hoping to leave work earlier today, but there was just too much to do. Once I got here I warmed up the leftover cider-glazed sausage for dinner (for the record, it isn’t really a microwave-friendly dish) with an appetizer of chips and hummus. Yum. I’ve been on a hummus kick lately. I wasn’t always a fan of it, but with the addition of garlic or red pepper I’m addicted to the chickpea spread. While I would have loved to end my meal with a couple of the delicious peanut butter cookies I made on Friday (seriously, you have to try that recipe), they were just too good to survive the weekend. Dan and I ate the leftovers yesterday while watching basketball. (It’s much less stressful watching the NBA playoffs when your team is already out. R.I.P 2010-2011 Lakers.) While eating I watched the second and final disc of the Emma miniseries and loved it. What a wonderful production. I believe the next movie Dan and I are going to get from Netflix is Lethal Weapon 4. What does it say about me that I’m just as excited to watch that as I was to watch Emma? I’m not going to worry about how strange that makes me right now because it’s after 10 PM and I need to be getting to bed. I finished a really great book last night, The Light by D. J. MacHale, and now I’m stuck reading another library book that I don’t like nearly as well. I suppose that means I won’t stay up too late reading it like I did with the previous book. Goodnight everyone. Wish me luck tomorrow!
