Chocolate chip cookies #23: Based on Chef in Training’s Gingerbread Pudding Chocolate Chip Cookies. Baked on 12/8/12.
I’m actually spending some time at home for a change this evening, but I have way too much on my plate tonight to write a decent post. Sorry about that! But if I don’t fold all of the laundry I just washed I won’t have any clothes ready to go to spinning in the morning! So here’s another recipe review in my search for the best homemade chocolate chip cookie.
In early December I found a box of instant gingerbread pudding mix at the grocery store which made me want to try this recipe for gingerbread pudding chocolate chip cookies. I have to admit that I didn’t follow the recipe faithfully, but the spirit was still the same – add a box of instant pudding mix to basic dough! The funny thing about these cookies is that if you didn’t know the gingerbread pudding mix was in there you might not recognize it at all. The end result was a very tasty chocolate chip cookie with an underlying hint of gingerbread flavor that actually enhanced the basic recipe. They were very tasty! Not my favorite by far, but still very good and well received by my co-workers (who gobbled them up, of course). I’m tempted to try this recipe again with two boxes of gingerbread pudding mix to see how they turn out. Definitely something to remember next Christmas!
