Halloween decorations

It’s no secret that I love Christmas and I own a ton of decorations that are appropriate for that time of year, but other holidays don’t get quite as much fanfare in my house. As of Halloween 2013 my only decoration consisted of Witch Duck (check out the photo I posted in October). This was partly due to the fact that I spent most of September and the first week of October working in Florida. If I’d been in California I guarantee I would have been scouring the stores for fall decor. Back in September I saw a ceramic pumpkin luminary that I loved at Pottery Barn, but by the time I got back from my month in Florida it was sold out. So I missed out on that this year. It’s probably a good thing as far as my bank account is concerned, but last weekend I found some Halloween sales online while looking for early deals on Christmas decorations. The first thing I saw that I had to get was the Lenox Lucy and Snoopy bobbing for apples figurine in the above photo. Isn’t it great? I bought it on eBay for $35 when the original price was $115! “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” is one of my favorite holiday shows so I love Peanuts Halloween items. Along those same lines, I found this set of Peanuts trick-or-treating figures on the Macy’s website too. I wish I had waited a week to get the closeout price on the set, but it’s awesome at any price. My apartment is going to be much more festive next October! Now if I could just find some sort of fall wreath or other front door decoration before next year…
